Board of Missions Purpose

First Congregational Church and its members actively follow the example of Christ with its mission efforts.
The Board of Missions Theme:
"What would Christ have me do?"
- Help fellow Christians see the need for mission in their personal life
- Stir our passion for mission
- Act on a mission each season and in daily life
- Teach our children
- Create mission as a way of life
How We Help Our Mission Partners:
- Prayer: We pray for Lord's support guidance and miracles
- Time: We offer our time and advice
- Labor: We get personally involved in our partner's mission and success. We offer a helping hand
- Funds: We collectively offer our financial support
A key to selecting the mission projects supported by the church is that they meet these themes. In turn, several primary missions have been identified for our support.
- AmeriCares HomeFront
- Amos House
- Angel Tree, A Ministry of Prison Fellowship
- Dorothy Day
- H. O. M. E.
- Housatonic Habitat for Humanity
- Habitat for Humanity International
- Midnight Run
- Pivot House
- Women's Center/Elizabeth House
In addition, to the specific organizations with which the church has direct involvement, it also supports the United Church of Christ and its missions.
