Board of Missions ~ Amos House

Mission Overview

Amos House is a locally organized transitional living program for homeless families in the greater Danbury area. Founded by five area churches in 1986, Amos House strives to find unique solutions to the unique situation each family faces as they seek to improve their life by finding permanent housing. A centerpiece of the program is a residential facility in Danbury that is adaptable for families of various sizes. Participants in the program live in the facility, sharing common kitchen, dining, bath and communal areas, all the while working on strengthening skills in the areas most important to their particular situation.
