Music Ministries
Our Children's Ensembles
In FCC's two children's choirs--the Covenant Choir and the Carol Choir--the Music Ministry strives to bring glory to God through music by teaching good churchmanship, teamwork, and Christian Education; employing the musical talents, gifts, and abilities God has given us; and nurturing good Christian fellowship. Each choir sings in church on an assigned Sunday each month, as well as in numerous extra programs through the September-through-May 'season.' We are grateful to our Parents Guilds who bless us with assistance in attendance, robing, refreshments, and retreats.
CAROL CHOIR
Edwin R. Taylor, conductor
Four-year-olds through Second Grade
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 4:30 PM
The Carol Choir enjoys a thirty-five minute rehearsal designed for our youngest 'musicians' through which a host of simple children's songs and games will put life-long songs and truths into the minds and hearts of our children. In addition to singing in worship one Sunday each month, Carol Choir also sings in the Hanging of the Greens, the Christmas Pageant, and in the 4:00p Christmas Eve Service.
COVENANT CHOIR
Edwin R. Taylor, conductor
Third through Sixth Grades
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:00 PM
The Covenant Choir, comprised of non-auditioned third, fourth, fifth, and sixth graders, sings in worship one Sunday each month, and also participates in the annual Hanging of the Greens (Dec.), the Christmas Pageant (Dec.), the 4:00p Christmas Eve Service, and takes a leading role in the music of Children's Sunday (May). Covenant Choir also participates with other children's choirs from throughout Fairfield County in the annual Choristers Guild Children's Choir Festival each March, at which time they are conducted by a nationally-recognized children's choir conductor/composer/clinician.
CRUSADER CHOIR
Edwin R. Taylor, conductor
Middle and High School Youth
Rehearsals: Selected Wednesdays, 6:00p
The Crusader Choir is comprised of non-auditioned middle and high school youth who specialize in singing, ringing, or singing and ringing. Meeting on selected Wednesdays, the Crusaders sing and/or play handbells/Choirchimes in worship two or three times annually.
